This Tres Leches Cake is made with three layers: Filling, Cake and Topping. In the topping and filling are 4 types of milk (condensed milk, whole milk, heavy cream and evaporated milk). An excellent cake for milk lovers.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup white sugar
5 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whole milk
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Flour and grease 9×13-inch baking pan. Sift baking powder and flour together and set aside.
Cream together margarine or butter and the 1 cup sugar, until fluffy. Add in the 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and the eggs. Beat well.
To the butter mixture add the flour mixture, 2 tablespoons at a time and mix until well blended. Into the prepared pan pour the batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. With a fork, pierce the cake several times.
Combine together the condensed milk, whole milk and evaporated milk. Then, pour over the top of the cooled cake.
Whip together the remaining 1 cup of the sugar, whipping cream and the remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla, until thick.
Spread over the top of the cake. Refrigerate.
