Do you ever wish to get that restaurant-style rotisserie chicken at home? Well, with 5 hours’ cooking time and minimal preparation you can! This Roasted Rotisserie Style Sticky Chicken is perfect for the weekends.
4 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp white pepper
1⁄2 tsp cayenne pepper
1⁄2 tsp black pepper
1⁄2 tsp garlic powder
2 onion, quartered
2 (4 pounds each) whole chicken
In a small bowl mix together, paprika, salt, thyme, onion powder, black pepper, white pepper, garlic powder and cayenne pepper.
Remove and discard giblets from chicken. Then, rinse chicken cavity and pat dry with paper towel. With spice mixture, rub each chicken out and inside.
Into the cavity of each chicken, place 1 onion. Double wrap with plastic wrap or place chickens in a resealable bag. Refrigerate at least 4 to 6 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
In a roasting pan place the chickens. Bake for 5 hours (uncovered), to a minimum interval temperature of 180 degrees F.
10 minutes before serving, let the chickens stand.
